Disappointing after-sales service and lack of response to a warranty/gaurantee issue

I purchased made-to-measure blinds from All Kent Shutters and Blinds, which were supplied and fitted. The order included wooden Venetian and Perfect Fit Venetian blinds.

At the time of purchase, a five-year guarantee was advertised as part of the service.

Unfortunately, I have since experienced a problem with the blinds, where the material surrounding the cord/wire has started to split and come away. Therefore now unable to pull up the blinds as they remain stuck. Given that the blinds are still within the advertised five-year guarantee period, I contacted the company to raise the issue and ask for assistance under the warranty. I even sent a picture of the fault via email to make it easier for the fitter to identify the problem before having to come out to me.

Despite contacting them by both email and telephone over the last 2/3 weeks, I have received no response.  On the one occasion when my call was answered I was promised a call back, yet here I am, still waiting.

I find this particularly disappointing. When spending a considerable amount of money on made-to-measure blinds, you reasonably expect the products to last and, just as importantly, for the company to provide after-sales support if something goes wrong.

A five-year guarantee is reassuring at the point of purchase, but it is of little value if the company does not respond when a customer tries to use it.

I am disappointed that I have had to resort to leaving a review simply to highlight the lack of communication and customer service. I would have much preferred the opportunity to resolve this directly with the company. My time is just as valuable as the company's and I resent that I've had to keep chasing.

Based on my experience, I would encourage anyone considering using this company to think about the after-sales service as well as the initial installation and whether the 5 year guarantee advertised is of any use.

Would absolutely recommend All Kent Shitters and Blinds. Great communication from the very first phone call. Nikki came out and measured up. Lovely friendly lady, Joe came round and showed samples and said how long they would take. Joe came back and fitted the shutters, very professional, very polite, tidied up as they worked. We couldn’t be happier with our shutters!! All Kent shutters are a lovely family run business!
The Shutters took a little longer than we expected to arrive but it was totally worth the wait and can’t thank both Nicola and Joe enough for making our house feel a home after a full house renovation!  The shutter and shade is just amazing, with 3 young children and the lighter nights it’s making such a huge difference already! We also thought the cost of shutters were going to be super expensive but they are really reasonable prices!

We’ve had our shutters fitted for over 5 years and they still look just as amazing as when they were first installed! We have purchased both shutters and blinds from All Kent Shutters and they are both 10/10. Nicola & Joe provide an excellent service, on hand to help with any queries and were also extremely tidy upon install. Couldn’t recommend enough!
